So glad we finally made it and visited what is now our favourite hotel in Europe! I've stayed in many good family run hotels in Austria as I ski twice a year - in March I was in St Anton for example where I've stayed many times at the Alte Post and Sport hotels. The Wiesenhof beats them all! Great food, the best breakfast I think I have seen in any hotel in the world and helpful friendly hosts and staff. The service was impeccable. We stayed for a week from 3rd May - a quiet time in both the hotel and area as between winter and summer seasons. A great time to visit. My wife used the huge swimming pool every day - the biggest and nicest indoor pool we've ever seen in a hotel. Walks from Pertisau were beautiful though still a lot of snow over about 1500 metres so had to turn back twice as not equipped for it! A good time for wild flowers though I suspect they will be even better in a couple of weeks time. Our room had good views of both Lake and mountains, great to sit on the balcony. Can't wait to go back! (weniger)

Helpful, courteous and cheerful. We booked a cross country ski package but next time will book an offer, smaller room and arrange our own ski hire as it seemed a more expensive way of doing things. The rooms are lovely with great views but we had to switch off the high heating and open the windows and door as it was overly cosy. Breakfasts were superb and my favourite meal as we found the dinners had a lot of choice but it was just too much to eat! Choice three self service starters( and you could have them all if feeling hungry ! ) five mains to choose (with a fish and vegetarian choice every day) , choice of two desserts and then cheese. We just couldn’t do it all despite trying hard! They were so accommodating that I got a wonderful fruit plate instead of a dessert. We just loved the fact it’s a very well run family hotel. Spa (and massages) and pool are wonderful but note no textiles in wellness area ie naked. Snow was melting as we left but there was enough cross country runs for us as beginners. Check restaurants and cafes as most seemed to be cash only and the Achensee pass is just for busses and won’t get you up the mountain even if you just wanted a coffee up there. Don’t bother with a trip to jenbach as it’s a bit tatty but do note that the complex bus timetable makes sense when you realise it’s a one way loop into and out of village so bus stops twice at ski lift . We walked/ skied to the cross country areas rather than use bus. All in all a lovely holiday, thank you all very much! (weniger)
