Hiking: from easy to challenging
The mountains are calling? Then just say: “Here we come!” Look forward to cosy walks along the lakeshore, easy (also with strollers!) and moderately difficult tours to mountain huts, or even peak conquests if you’re reaching for the sky. The cable cars will take you comfortably up to the top, the rest is up to your feet. Think hiking’s just for summer? Not at Lake Achensee. In winter, scenic trails lead you around the lake and high above Pertisau to welcoming mountain huts. Simply magical.
Cycling – with or without battery
Want to pedal yourself or fancy a little help? Both is possible! From family-friendly cycle paths along Lake Achensee to mountain bike trails for the adventurous and e-bike tours for those who prefer a relaxed pace. You can hire bikes here at Wiesenhof.
Water sports at Lake Achensee
Lake Achensee is one of the cleanest lakes in Tyrol. Swimming here is refreshingly invigorating even in summer, and water sports enthusiasts can enjoy sailing, surfing, or stand-up paddling. Also delightful: simply relaxing on the shore, watching the fish glide by. Or keeping an eye out for Emil.
Winter adventures
When the snow arrives, the landscape around Lake Achensee becomes marvellous. Your ski experience can start directly from your doorstep, or you can take the free ski bus to the nearby ski areas or go cross-country skiing. You can also try winter hiking, snowshoeing, tobogganing, ice skating, and more. After all that crisp mountain air, unwind in the sauna at Wiesenhof – the perfect way to round off the day. By the way: have you ever tried ice bathing? The crystal-clear Lake Achensee is the perfect place to try it out.
And then?
What else is there, you might think? Play golf at the Achensee Golf Club. Let your kids ride a pony in the indoor arena: they’ll love it! Go paragliding for a bird’s-eye view. Or simply do nothing and watch time drift by. Sometimes, that’s the greatest luxury of all. Our suggestion: try something new every day and see what you enjoy most.
